“Going Back to its Roots – The Thing That Built Sunrider in the First Place! ” Sunrider friend and highly respected Leader, Paul Jensen.
Dear Sunrider Leaders,
Last weekend I had the opportunity of attending the meeting given by John Tang in Mesa, AZ. He opened the meeting by saying that Sunrider was going back to its roots, the thing that built Sunrider in the first place … the philosophy of Regeneration and the products. His talk followed a product tasting party like the one at the Leadership Convention in Palm Desert. John spent the bulk of the time talking philosophy and product with supporting information about the company, with the financial opportunities well balanced in the overall presentation. It was a great presentation that was followed by a half dozen local IBOs sharing their testimonies on why they loved the Sunrider products and business opportunity.
It was a great meeting.
I was particularly intrigued by the story of Chef Jean Ekobo, a French chef and a wonderful Sunrider. For you folks who have not been to France, and for some of us who have been but still don’t get it right … his name is pronounced “John” with a French flair. Anyway, here is his story as I remember it. When he first came to the States, his first job was in a large bakery that made pastries and other goodies. He was taken into a room where his supervisor instructed him that different customers required different shelf lives for their products. And in this room were shelves of chemicals that Chef Jean was to add to the pasties to give them the required shelf life. For you who need help understanding the term “shelf life,” an example of this would be a Twinkie, I am told, which has about a 29 year shelf life … after which it can be used as a cinder brick for another 50 years. You’ve got to love modern chemistry!
Chef Jean found this confusing as first; he didn’t understand the term “shelf life.” In France … and I can testify they have great pasties … at the end of the day they throw away anything they don’t sell. And second, why would someone want to put chemicals into food! In France, you take whole food ingredients and arguably make some of the world’s best pastries.
So Chef Jean found a home where he understood its philosophy … Sunrider and whole foods.
For you who have been reluctant to talk about the products in the past, dust off your enthusiasm for telling others how great these products are … and share them with everyone!
My personal belief is that when you get a Business Leader that is first and foremost devoted to the Sunrider products as part of their lifestyle … you have a solid piece of your business in place. Building a business of any nature has its moments, particularly in today’s economic environment. If a builder loves the products they have a significant foundation and reason to see it through to success and will ignore the pesky challenges that come along the way.
Sincerely,
Paul Jensen
